    Comprehensive and Trusted Prenatal Supplement
I’ve been using the THORNE Basic Prenatal while preparing for pregnancy and throughout early pregnancy, and I’m very impressed with its quality. It includes a well-researched form of folate, which is crucial for fetal development, along with 18 essential vitamins and minerals plus choline. I appreciate how this supplement supports my overall health as well as my baby’s development. The capsules are easy to take, and I have not experienced any side effects. This product gives me confidence in my prenatal nutrition and is definitely worth the investment for pregnant and nursing women. Highly recommended!

    Smells
I wanted to like this vitamin but I’ve taken them two days in a row and vomited shortly after. I can’t bear the smell of the vitamins even before the bottle gets opened. I’m disappointed as I spent money on these vitamins and can’t even finish them.Update: I’m adjusting my rating for the excellent customer service and quick response. I am willing to try different products from their line when I am no longer pregnant.5/26/25 postpartum update: I decided to give the prenatal vitamin another chance because I really like the ingredients and that this brand does 3rd party testing. I’m able to better tolerate the smell. I do notice my milk supply increases when I take the vitamin and my milk is lower in supply when I forget to take it, not sure if it’s a coincidence or if it actually helps boost supply. I am happy with the vitamin and will continue to use Thorne!

Great quality – smells a little!
Great prenatals with great ingredients! I feel confident taking these through my current pregnancy and plan to continue to take Thorne postpartum as well. If you are sensitive to taking pills/smells bother you, they don’t smell the best and there were a few nights in my first trimester where I couldn’t stomach to take them. Overall, they’re great and I’d recommend!

    THE BEST PRENATAL
Been using these since I got pregnant last October and love them! Take 3 each night before I go to sleep. I have had no side effects and have energy throughout the day. What’s best about these is they give you all the vitamins you need AND the best part… my hair is growing like crazy!

Works for some, but not me…..
I love that these prenatals worked for some, but they were not for me. First of all, as some other reviewers have mentioned, the smell/taste of these are just horrendous. I’ve been a good pill taker all my life, but these I’d have to have a mouth full of oj, mentally prepare for the taste, pop them in my mouth and immediately swallow them before my brain could compute the taste. They’re just awful. Honestly though, even that I could get over. What I couldn’t get over? Diarrhea….it would just come out of nowhere and it was terrible. I thought it could have been from the sushi I had the night before. Nope. 4 days in a row, same thing. Then I thought it was the vitamin c phospholipids I started taking at the same time. Nope. I stopped taking these, but kept up with the vitamin c and had no issues. I just tried to reintroduce these back into my system today. Diarrhea again. So these are a straight up no for me. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

4/5 Great quality, but the smell is hard to handle!
I’ve been taking Thorne Basic Prenatal for a while now, and I can definitely say the quality is excellent. It has everything I need during pregnancy — especially the active forms of folate, iron, and B vitamins. I trust the brand and feel confident that I’m getting clean, effective ingredients. However, I have to mention the smell. The pills have a very strong odor — almost like penicillin or antibiotics. At first, I thought something was wrong with my bottle, but after some research, I found out it’s totally normal. It’s caused by the high levels of B vitamins (especially B1 and B2), folate, and iron — all of which have naturally strong smells. Also, I noticed that my urine becomes bright yellow and smells like the vitamins, especially in the first half of the day. Again, this is a normal effect of riboflavin (vitamin B2) being excreted, but it can be surprising if you’re not expecting it.If you’re sensitive to smells like me, I recommend:• Taking the vitamins with food• Drinking extra water• Being mentally prepared for the odor 😅I’m still finishing the bottle because the formula is solid and well-balanced, but I wish they could find a way to improve the smell. That’s the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

    Thorne is great!
Love this prenatal!!Thorne products have been at the forefront of my supplement journey for awhile now, so when it came to prenatal I went with Thorne.I am not pregnant, but simply am interested in becoming pregnant in the near future, so I’m jump starting my body with the nutrients it needs. Some of the Thorne products smell horrendous. I actually had to stop taking the basic nutrients daily multivitamin from them because the smell made me nauseous and the pills gave me headaches. These prenatals do not do that to me!They do have a smell (it’s not pleasant but it’s not unbearable). The pills are on the larger side. And you do have to take 3 a day.You can break up when you take them but I always take them with my other pills at the same time after eating a large meal.I’ve never had an issue!

  8. Amy Humphries

    Good
I have no complaints with this prenatal other than the fact that you have to take 3 at once and there was a slight taste to them that I did not enjoy but it wasn’t too bad. No side effects or sickness from them!

  9. Amazon カスタマー

The product is fine but don’t bother ordering from iherb. They will cancel your order and only inform you of this 4-5 days later. It’s better to order from another vendor.

    Good choice

Must be taken on a full stomach.

  13. HaBe

I tried it for 3 days and threw it the full pack in the bin after feeling sick every day once taking it. The smell and taste came back up for hours
