Great Size
I really like this little journal! I am the kind of person who collects a bunch of stationary tools to make myself feel more productive. More often than not, I don’t really end up using them that much. This one is small enough and unobtrusive enough that I can keep it in my work laptop bag and that has helped me to be more motivated to actually use it. The cover is also really nice with a soft, buttery feel. The pages are good quality, I don’t feel like I’m going to poke a hole just by writing on them.If you’re motivated, I feel like this would be a great one to turn into a bullet journal. It would hold up well to all the different designs and places you color things in. I also feel like my ink pens glide very smoothly in this.

Decent, but not leather, and actually legal-ruled (not college ruled)
So I really don’t have any problems with this notebook, what I have a problem with is the ad copy used to describe it.The good: The notebook is solidly constructed without any flaws that I could find. Mine came damaged in transit, with a slightly crushed corner, but that was on Amazon.com and/or the delivery service. It was shipped in a plastic envelope and at some point or other it got banged up. Otherwise I found the cover to be fine, and it lays open completely.There is an elastic strap to hold the cover closed, a page ribbon (which is actually thicker and of better quality than most), and an accordion-fold placket in the back to hold bits-and-bobs.The paper is cream, and fairly straightforward, blessedly free of anything but ruling marks. I like that — I really don’t like all the weird stuff in the top margin that lets me mark down whether it was cloudy during that page or not. Just clutters things up.The not-so-good: The cover is faux leather, and that should be consistently noted throughout the ad copy. I wasn’t expecting leather at this price, but this isn’t even the highest quality of faux leather, having a decidedly soft feel. Also, it is not college-ruled. College ruling is 9/32nds per line, and this is 11/32nds per line, which is wide-ruled (also called legal ruled). Again, I don’t really care, but if you do, you are going to be mislead by the ad-copy. Finally, the ruling is pretty dark. I prefer a thin gray or light blue ruling, because after you’ve written in it, the ruling fades into the background, making reading easier. This is just slightly to heavy for ruling.So I give this four stars. Clean up the ad-copy and lighten up the ruling color, and you’d have a five-star notebook, especially for $9.

Lays flat!
For my purposes of general note-taking this is perfect! It’s clean and professional looking without being too boring (I got the pink color, which is true to the images), it’s sturdy but not too heavy or bulky, and it lays flat on the table. I usually only buy spiral notebooks because I can’t stand it when books don’t sit flat, so I’m definitely happy to see this one does. (and as much as I love my endless horde of spiral books I’m kind of excited to have another option now too lol).I don’t use any special pens so I’m not sure of paper quality for calligraphy or fountain pens, but for everyday writing it’s nice. not too thick and not too thin.
