Great value
Super fun little kit! I bought 3 because it was the perfect birthday presents for some kindergarten birthday parties! Seeds haven’t sprouted just yet but the solid was the perfect amount and it was really fun to measure out the water and rehydrate the soil block. Great little science project. My little loved the stickers and decorating the box. Even if you want to use different seeds (coriander and onions are what’s in the kit) they kit is worthwhile. Might try a few small radishes too

Take a break from screen time
Basic toy that leads to hours of play. My son is 9 and was able to do almost the entire kit on his own. Everything works just as it’s supposed to; easy to use; and looks very nice on his shelf. We could see germination within a couple weeks. I think the price point is great for future birthday party gifts for his friends. He liked this so much he chose it over screen time.

Great kit, but buy your own seeds
The kit itself is great, and provides a great visual for seeds growing. But I would recommend purchasing seeds separately. Used the seeds within the provided container and in the ground and neither grew much if at all. Seeds didn’t produce anything worth noting.

Germination is abysmal despite seeds being in date. Still glad to have it for usur own seeds
I bought this knowing the likelihood the seeds would not germinate based on other reviews.We planted 20 seeds after following all directions including the seed soaking directions. Only 1 seed germinated.There were tiny spots of mold but it was not too concerning.We still feel like it was worth the money for the container, we will just try other seeds.

SO COOL
Okay, so I definitely ordered this to do with my 4 year old, though it quickly became evident it was just as much for me as it was for him. I am pretty sure I like it more than my son does HAHA. But the product came packaged well, it was easy and fun to set up. My son loved all the stickers that came with it and had a blast decorating the container. My advice would be to let your little decorate the container before you put the stuff in it despite the instructions saying to do so after. But we followed the instructions, I placed the container up on my kitchen window ledge and within about 3 days we saw sprouts! The seeds grew very quickly and it was so cool to see the roots through the container and how they wrap around the bottom. It is easy to keep up on as it just needs a few squirts of water at a time. A second benefit of this project is that my son under supervision gets to practice using his scissors and “mowing” the grass, which he sure thinks is pretty cool

Absolutely Cheap Trash
Never got to use the product because both times it arrived cracked and broken. The boxes were in perfect condition and so was the shipping container. Which just goes to show that the quality of the product is absolute trash.

easy and fun for kids
i just got thisroot viewer today so i dont know how well the seeds will grow as well as the roots to view. me and my 7 year old son did this little project together and it was easy enough for him to do most of it on his own. it came in three different pieces to put together and all you really need is some common sense to know where everything goes, but the directions are very simple if needed also. it comes with everything you need, a sheet of cute stickers that have a garden vibe, the root viewer dome, a stand that drains excess water out, two packets of cilantro seeds, and two disks of soil… which swells to the perfect amount of soil after 30 min. in warm water to fill up your root viewer dome. this was the perfect little summer project for me and my son to enjoy.

I bought this for my daughter.. She enjoyed planting the seeds that came with it but there was no growth from them. We then tried our own seed and there was growth, we now have a little seedling!!It was very clear easy instructions, price for the product was great! Fun activity for kids, perfect size to be handled by little hands.!

It worked and the things are growing. But it does not have carrots, just cilantro and green onions and it’s quite small. It would be just as well to get your own seeds and soil and plant this in an old soda bottle.
