Good buy
Educational toy which is light weight and easy to use. I like the different modes since it can simply provide facts to the children or can be switched into quiz mode to see how much information they have retained.

Great educational kid item
First all the kids wanted to check this out – the 6, 4 and 2 yr old. It was a gift for the 4 yr old. It keeps her attention and gives great bite sized info and facts about each thing. Each slide has 3 versions/stages of the theme or item – ie: dandelion, butterfly, housefly, blood cells. Bindi gives info and facts about each of the three images across the slide as the slide is moved to each image. The slides have sets of teeth in them to go into the slot on the scope. If it’s not quote seated all the way you might end up with Bindi telling you about a different creature – ie: we learned this when the snowflake slide started talking about the black widow spider. Not a flaw, just user error – so some kids may have trouble at first getting the slides seated and then they have to be lifted out and the teeth put in for the next image in the slide. Sounds more complex the way I’m explaining – the 4 yr old caught on just fine.Kiddo now peppers me with facts about spiders and red blood cells. Over all it is higher quality than I expected and I’m QUITE pleased with it and would definitely buy it again for another kiddo and definitely recommend.

Perfect gift for children; fun and education. Durable.
Perfect blend of education and fun. We purchased one and saw the joy of our children. And now is a go-to gift idea. Lots to learn and do with this one item. The buttons are easy to use (large). The cards are easy to use (slide in and out). Lightweight. Batteries do last in this toy. We couldn’t be happier with this product.

Great beginner microscope for little kids
I bought this for my daughter last Christmas and she played with it a handful of times. It’s a great first microscope; an introductory one that spiked her interest into the microscopic world. However, it’s basically just zoomed in pictures rather than a microscope with magnification.Toys like these have very limited play time. Once a child knows all those information and have seen the slides a dozen times, it gets sidelined fast.On the other hand, she has another microscope which is handheld and she uses it often to look into bugs, leaves and other stuff. Endless exploration.Overall this Geosafari Talking Microscope helps little kids understand what things look like in the microscopic world.

I’m not an advocate of tech toys, but this is an exception.
I bought two of these, one for my 4yo granddaughter and one for my 3yo grandson. Both of them love it. I can totally see this being a long lasting toy, one they’ll grow into but is also usable now. They both were in awe and kept taking the microscope to people to have them look! The toy requires 3 AAA batteries. Bindi Irwin is a gem and highly relatable to little ones. Her excitement is infectious. She tells them facts about the slide, and there is a quiz option to see what they learned. From what I could tell, there isn’t a “focus” function, which could be an issue for some kids. But when it gets time to upgrade, I’ll look for that in a new model. The microscope is sturdy and should be just fine surviving toddlers.

THE hit of Christmas Day!
When our grandson opened this gift, he said, “Gram, we have one of these at school” looking very disappointed. When his dad showed him the talking aspect of the microscope and how he could view the multiple slides, we lost Eli for the rest of the day. This is the perfect size for a five-year old. The weight was just right and the product was built to last. Eli wanted to know more about each of the slides. We were put to the test at that time. I’m so glad I saw this educational and fun gift.

Good idea but no mute or “low” volume button
We bought two of these for Christmas for our children so they could each have their own.One Microscope worked great. The slides were really cool and it did a good job of explaining what was on the slide and even asked questions to see if your kids are paying attention. The 2nd microscope was defective and didn’t read the slides correctly. For example it would tell the kids that a slide of a tooth was a honey bee and would then proceed to talk about honeybees while they were looking at a human tooth. The same slide would read correctly in the first microscope so we knew it wasn’t the slides. So we returned one of them. I would have given it 5 stars anyways… because the 1st microscope was awesome and no product is ever 100 percent all the time. We can expect a replacement every now and then and that’s ok to me. I am just letting everyone know one was defective Incase you see a lot of reviews saying the same thing… then you know it’s a common problem and maybe but such a great toy.The reason I personally think it’s worth 3 stars instead of 5 at this point, is because this awesome Microscope becomes a nightmare if you have 2 or more kids. It is impossible for them to both sit at the table together and each have their own microscope (which I wanted them to do so they wouldn’t loose any slides or break the microscope). It’s impossible because you can’t mute the Microscopes. They only have two volumes. Loud and regular. There isn’t even a “low” volume so that you and your kids can tune out one microscope and try to listen to the other. It is absolutely chaotic. It’s impossible to get them to sync what their saying. Even if you handed your kids the same slide to do at the same time it’s too hard to get them to start simultaneously. Too make matters worse … if your child doesn’t do what the microscope prompts them to do… such as push the “fact button” or “choose a different slide” then the microscope keeps talking and repeating itself after a few seconds. It never remains silent long enough for everyone just to listen to one microscope. It is chaotic. Even if you only had one kid or you wanted your kids to share one microscope it would be great if you could mute it. Sometimes it is nice just to look at the pictures without the audio going on and on. Especially because it won’t stay silent and repeats itself over and over. Having a young child I do think that the repeat is helpful for prompting them … so I understand why it does it…. however for parents or older kids it would be nice to have a mute button for sanity or maximum enjoyment. You cannot turn the light on the microscope, without the audio coming on.Incase your wondering- The Manuel tells you what each button does on the microscope. There are three buttons (1,2,3) for multiple choice questions and answers. A magnifying button for “facts” or information about the slide. A volume button that is two levels- (loud and regular only). And an on/off button which turns the light on to see the slides and starts the audio.

Excellent quality and clear recorded voice. Bought this for my daughter last xmas but sadly once she has listened and saw all the slides, she wouldn’t want to play with it anymore so that’s just in about 2 days! But, I would still recommend it if you have toddlers. Great information!
