fun game, good for all ages 8+
I had been looking at this game for a long time, but I didn’t know if it would be good for adults with varying levels of knowledge about plants. I thought it might help me learn about herbs, but I also wanted it to be fun for my adult daughters, who have a lot of this type of knowledge. I finally got a chance to play it, and it is great. I went home and ordered it pretty quickly. The game is somewhat cooperative–you each progress independently but the total goal can be reached together. As you hike up the trail, you have problems like a skinned knee or upset stomach, and you have to use your collected herbs to solve them. It sounds like it could be boring, but it’s actually well done and pretty fun.My son-in-law had played it for years, since he was a child, but he still was very happy to play it again and show it to me, and the rest of us who had never played it also had fun with it. It’s not a super challenging game, but we enjoy less intense games, too, and this one was very good.

Incredible way to learn herbology
This game is incredible. Both adult and child benefit from constantly looking at the pictures of herbs and solutions. I use a companion herb manual to talk out some ways to use the herb on occasion throughout the game. My daughter is 4 and we modified the rules a bit to speed it up but it is one of her favorites and so applicable to life. I highly highly recommend!!!

I would recommend it
It is a well put together game, fun and attractive. The cooperative aspect of the game is the best thing. Learning about the medicinal effects of the herbs is great.

Fun (and Educational) for the Whole Family
This is a wonderful game! I played it with my 4 year old granddaughter and 8 year old grandson last week. They had fun and didn’t even realize they were learning about medicinal herbs at the same time. This game took us around 40 minutes and my granddaughter lost interest at about 35 minutes. But the fact that she stayed with it that long at 4, means she was really having fun.I am hoping that the future they become more curious about these herbs and ask if we can actually find some in the nearby field. I’ll be ready with my medicinal herbs book to show them what these herbs can be used for, and even how to preserve them. The author of this game also has a series called Herb Fairies that can be an add-on to teach more about medicinal herbs.

Fun for families, but does not include all materials in description
I’ll start by saying this is a very sweet game. I like how the directions encourage you to “just start playing” and learn as you play. You do need to print the coloring book and guide on your own, which is why I am giving it 4 stars. At the price point, I was expecting to have the coloring book and guide included. So that was kind of a letdown. Especially if you don’t have access to a printer. For the game to truly be educational, you need the guide.

Best for children around age eight
Colorful gameboard reminiscent of chutes and ladders. Informative cards that introduce several common plants. The cards work similarly to Sorry. The biggest difference from either of the two classic games is that no one wins until everyone wins. There are several cards that allow players to help each other reach Grandma’s house with their load of berries and other goodies. Stories and extended information about the plants is optional, but are available to extend the fun. It is an excellent kitchen table game for long winter evenings.

Amazing Game
This game is amazing. There is so much to say about it. I love how it teaches herbalism in a way that easy for kids, and adults, to make such easy connections. I was the only one in the family that knew anything about herb use, and now thanks to this game the kids are remember facts about stinging nettle, dandelion, and so many more. Want educational fun, get this game NOW! LearningHerbs is a great place to get all your herbal educational needs.

Teamwork boardgame
The best board game we have! My favorite part is that it encourages teamwork instead of racing to the end against your family members. My youngest is a sore looser and this game eliminated the struggle. My next favorite is multiple engagement levels. All players are getting to a destination and coming home, the sun is setting, there are trouble they encounter on the way, they find aids and they are able to help each other. As a nice bonus on top of all that the players are learning herbalism.I’d give 7 stars if I could 🙂

We got this game for our 4-year-old as a Christmas gift, we all liked the game and we’re all learning thanks to it. Our son still doesn’t understand all of the game but he enjoys the process of playing with both of his parents. We’re sure that later he will be able to really understand the game and the rules.

Great game. If played the traditional way it is quite long. We adapt it based on how long we want to ply for. It’s easy to change rules and make it your own. Very informative and educational. My kids have learnt so much!
