Fun for families
I LOVE family game night ideas. This one has fun ones that my family and extended family enjoyed (kids ages 3-11 years). We really liked the Would You Rather? questions.

Good ideas for screen free fun!
Family Games Night contains some great ideas for screen-free entertainment for all ages. The book’s straightforward approach makes it easy to jump into hilarious challenges, word games, riddles, and conversation starters without complicated setup. While I appreciated the variety and kid-friendly design, I wished there were more games included to provide even greater entertainment value for families.

Get Off Screens, Play Games…
As we all know, we as Americans spend too much time on screens. Here’s an idea: a weekly family “Game Night,” no screens involved. Where to get ideas? Try this book, “Family Games Night.” What I like about this book is how minimalist the games are; for many, no equipment is needed, no boards, just a willingness to have fun and spend quality time with family and friends. One of my favorite activities in the book is “Ready, Steady, Cook.” Everyone is responsible for cooking a meal, and no phone recipes are allowed. Reminded me of my family as a kid, when we’d go on vacation and my siblings and I would each have to cook dinner one night. Thank you, “Family Games Night,” for bringing back so many awesome family memories! Make new ones, get this book!

A Warm and Inclusive Approach
Family Games Night is a delightful resource for families looking to unplug and reconnect through play. Designed for ages 7 and up—including teens and parents – it offers a vibrant mix of quick-to-learn activities that encourage laughter, movement and conversation. The book includes a wide variety of games and challenges from wordplay and riddles to physical games and thoughtful prompts. Its design makes it easy for kids to flip through and choose what the family will try next, and the minimal setup means no evening gets bogged down in preparation. Kit Penn, drawing on her experience as a teacher, camp volunteer and parent, brings a warm and inclusive approach that makes this more than just a game book—it’s a gateway to meaningful connection.

Fun and Engaging
This is a fun addition to our family library. I like that the games are easy and engaging and even the youngest family member can participate and enjoy. Nice for a screen time break.

Perfect family fun
This little book is a great choice for parents or grandparents to have a fun, bonding night with the kids without resorting to a screen. The games are pretty simple, but it is really nice to have them written down to make choosing easy. We also love board games, but this adds physical participation, which always adds fun and laughter. Highly recommend!

Great illustrations and a nice variety of fonts in this book. There are lots of different games to play which would provide lots of fun – word games, challenges, riddles, questions and more active games too. Highly recommended!

This book is great if you want to do more as a family, swapping out TV for a game or having a little more fun and connection during dinner time. Some of the activities are appealing to younger kids, while others may be better suited for older kids and adults. You might be flipping pages a bit to find something suitable for your family depending on the ages of your kids.

Great book with lots of fun ideas for a family games night. Not too big and heavy for travelling, going to take ours on holiday.
